Since Kishore informed us that he could not come due to some
emergency, our plan for midnight trek suffered its first blow. It was
around 11 (02/05/11) in the night when we left Dombivali. At 2 A.M,
while we were entering Pali, a group of men with laathis in their hands
approached and stopped our vehicle and enquired about us. After
successfully convincing them they asked
us to close the windows and proceed. As we headed towards Pachhapur,
suddenly a Police Petrol Van signaled us to pull over. After the initial
Chaukashi, they informed us that there had been instances of frequent
robberies there and it would not be safe for us to continue. गाववाले
गैरसमजुतीने तरी मारतील किंवा दरोडेखोर तरी लुटतील.....हा हा .. (One
amongst the 7 Cops even asked us if we had obtained any Permission to
Trek )
Nevertheless, we decided to listen to them. We waited @ Bhakt Niwas No. 2, Pali till 5.30 in the morning. @ 6 we reached the base village Thakurwadi (Other route is from Dhondse Village) and started off @ 6.30 sharp. It was a pleasant early morning trek. Can’t grade it as medium also. An easy trek I’d say. By 9 we were atop Sudhagad. पाउस येत जात होता. पंत सचिव वाडा, भोराई देवी, महादेव मंदिर, तलाव, टकमक टोक, बोलके कडे, महादरवाजा वगैरे पाहून तीन वाजेपर्यंत खाली आलो. Due to fog we could not see Telbaila and Ghanagad but Sarasgad of Pali was very much visible. All in all, a pleasant start for the monsoon, met new friends Girish n Sandip. Driver, Datta too was a nice boy who drove vigilantly throughout the journey. Friends, you enjoy the pics.
